State of the AFC EAST: Week 7
State of the AFC East

Buffalo Bills (4-2)

The Bills remain atop the division as they had their bye in week 7.  They are coming off of a loss to the Titans but they face the Dolphins, Jaguars, and Jets the next three weeks.  Unfortunately for the Bills, Dawson Knox, who was having a breakout season, fractured his hand.  Not to worry though, Josh Allen is still a major problem for opponents as he is averaging over 350 ypg (including rush yards), and the Bills defense is one of the top in the league.  The Pats are only one game back right now but have a much tougher schedule over the next 3 weeks.

New England Patriots (3-4)

The Patriots had their way with the New York Jets in week 7 as they dominated by a score of 54-13.  They looked good on both sides of the ball, as Jones threw for his first 300 yard game, Harris ran for over 100 on the ground, and they held the Jets to under 300 yards of offense.  The problem, however, is that their only 3 wins are against the Jets and Texans.  They will have a much tougher test next week as they travel to LA to face the Chargers who are coming off of a bye week.  The Bills schedule is much more advantageous over the next 3 weeks, so their best hope is a wild card at best.

New York Jets (1-5)

New coach, new quarterback, but still the same old Jets.  Tough day for Jets fans as they were embarrassed in New England by a 41 point margin.  To make things worse, Zach Wilson had to leave the game due to a knee injury.  The Jets have been suffering injuries since training camp and they had 3 more in concussion evaluation.  The upcoming schedule isn’t favorable either so Jets fans shouldn’t be anticipating a change to the win tally any time soon.

Miami Dolphins (1-6)

Dolphins are coming off a tough home loss to the Falcons 30-28.  It was close as the Dolphins took a 1 point lead at the end of the 4th quarter.  Tua was 32/40 for 4 touchdowns and 291 yards, but unfortunately he did have 2 interceptions.  Kyle Pitts was virtually unguardable as he amassed 163 yards.  It looks like the Dolphin win total will be also remaining at 1 next week as they travel to Buffalo.
