It did not take very long for the Chicago Bulls to move on from Lauri Markkanen. In fact, it was only 25 days since the start of the 2021 free agency period for them to make this move. The three-team deal means the Bulls add a lottery-protected future first-round pick (via Portland), a second-round pick (via Cleveland), and Derrick Jones Jr.
Markkanen will sign a four-year $67 million dollar extension with Cleveland. Markkanen goes to a team that already has big men Evan Mobley and center Jarret Allen. Portland will pick up Larry Nance Jr from Cleveland on their end of the deal.
