On Monday, June 21st, the Supreme Court’s unanimous decision in National Collegiate Athletic Association v.Alston will allow thousands of high level student athletes can receive additional education related payments, including but not limited to added scholarship money.

This is a huge step in the “pay the players” fight that has been going on since 2014 in the courts and much longer before that. I like to state that I firmly stand on the side of paying collegiate athletes. Cash stipends and scholarships don’t come close to the billions (yes BILLIONS with a B) that college athletics bring in year in and year out. Perhaps I’m jumping the gun here, I’ll just say it anyway, this could be the first step to college athletes earning salaries.
I’ll use this last paragraph just for this. NCAA FOOTBALL VIDEO GAME IS COMING BACK!!!
