New York Giants @ Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Odds: Tampa Bay -10.5, over/under 50
Weather: 67 degrees, 5% chance of precipitation, 5 MPH winds
The 3-6 New York Giants will take on the 6-3 Tampa Bay Buccaneers. New York is coming off their bye, but defeated the Las Vegas Raiders 23-16 two weeks ago. Tampa Bay has lost two in a row, most recently losing 29-19 to the Washington Football Team.
Quarterback Daniel Jones leads a New York that has never been healthy this year, but hopes to get back running back Saquon Barkley on Monday night. Jones is averaging 259.2 passing yards per game with 8 touchdowns and 5 interceptions. He’s rushed for an additional 258 yards and two touchdowns. With his favorite target wide receiver Sterling Shepard still sidelined, rookie wide receiver Kadarius Toney and tight end Evan Engram have picked up the slack. Toney has 28 receptions for 352 yards, while Engram has 26 receptions for 224 yards and two touchdowns. Prized free agent Kenny Golladay has just 19 receptions for 310 while missing three games due to injury.
Devontae Booker has filled in admirably for Barkley during his absence with 315 yards rushing and 161 receiving. Barkley has missed four games this year so he’s only rushed for 195 yards with another 130 receiving.
Tampa Bay will be looking to stop their skid as Tom Brady continues to put up MVP-like numbers. Brady is averaging 323.4 yards passing per game with 27 touchdowns and 7 interceptions. Chris Godwin has settled in as Brady’s favorite target, hauling 57 of 77 passes for 717 yards and four touchdowns. Mike Evans is second in receiving with 606 yards, but leads the team with nine touchdowns. Antonio Brown will miss another game and tight end Rob Gronkowski is questionable and looking like a game time decision.
Leonard Fournette is the clear cut lead back in Tampa Bay’s rushing offense with 112 carries for 486 yards and two touchdowns. He’s also added 38 receptions for 284 yards through the air. Ronald Jones II has rushed just 44 times for 194 yards with one touchdown and two lost fumbles.
