The New England Patriots have released veteran, All-Pro Cornerback, Stephon Gilmore. Gilmore, who won the 2019 NFL Defensive Player of the Year, was set to return to action after week six following a stint on the physically unable to perform list, release seems to free up some space for the cap strapped Patriots who were $54,000 under the salary cap before the move.
Gilmore’s time in New England will be looked back on fondly. He made three Pro Bowls, two All-Pro teams and one Super Bowl during his time with the Patriots.
