State of the AFC West: Week 6
State of the AFC West

Los Angeles Chargers (4-2)

The Chargers are coming off of a whooping put on by the Baltimore Ravens as they were defeated 34 – 6.  The Ravens pretty much had their number in every facet of the game.  The Chargers had the worst run defense in the league going into this game and it showed.  On the other side of the ball the ravens gave Herbert all kinds of fits with disguising their scheme.  Hats off to Harbaugh for severely out coaching Brandon Staley.  The good news is they have 2 weeks to prepare for the less talented Patriots to come to town.  The bad news is they will again have the disadvantage in the coaching matchup.

Las Vegas Raiders (4-2)

The bad news is the Raiders have had to deal with the Gruden controversy and head to Mile High Stadium as 5 point underdogs.  Maybe it wasn’t so bad after all as they played inspired football and won 34 -24.  The difference in this game was the turnover battle.  Bridgewater had 3 interceptions and a fumble, while the Raiders didn’t give away the ball once all game.  The Raiders went into the half up 10 and then started the 2nd with another TD putting them up 17 and from that point on it was a wrap.  They will look to keep this momentum on Sunday when they host the Eagles who only allow 9.4 yards per reception.  Despite a very stingy YPR, the good news for Raider fans is that the Eagles have given up a lot of passing touchdowns.

Denver Broncos (3-3)

The Broncos started out on a 3 game winning streak.  The bad news is that the Broncos are now on a 3 game losing streak.  Despite the Raiders no longer having their primary play caller, they were able to complete 7 plays of 25+ yards.  At the same time Teddy Bridgewater and the offense didn’t do them any favors by giving the Raiders the ball back 4 times.  The good news is they will head to Cleveland next week who will not nearly be up to 100% as they are dealing with several key injuries.

Kansas City Chiefs (3.3)

The good news is the Chiefs were able to bounce back in week 6 after a loss to Buffalo.  Despite Mahomes having 2 interceptions in Washington on Sunday, the Chiefs were still able to defeat WFT handily by a score of 31-13.  They should be able to maintain momentum through next week as well as they take on the Titans who have been terrible defensively.  The bad news is that they are currently last in their division.
